Welcome, Mohamed!
Click here for the article we went through together on "Slopes and changes" if you want to review anything.
Task 1:
Recall the formulas below.
Send me a message explaining what (2) & (4) mean:
-What are they looking for?
-How do they work?
-Why do they work?
-What is a similar mathematical concept that uses similar formulas?
• The symbol "Δ" represents a change in a quantity (displacement, velocity, acceleration) from one point to another
• The formula v=u+at (2) is useful only in situations where v, u and a are all on the same axis. Almost always that would be the vertical axis (y); in such cases you need to substitute values for Vy and Uy (and acceleration of gravity).
Projectile motion basics
• If the projectile is at its maximum height (point A on the graph below), we can substitute Vy = 0• If the projectile lands on the ground (point B on the graph below) at exactly the same level as its initial position (point O), we can substitute Δy = 0.
This will be used for the next task.
